Restrooms are available during the experience.

Water and soft drinks are included. Tours with alcohol include options of local wine/beer.

Masks are required to be worn due to South African regulations. No mask no tour.

Dietary and allergy requirements by prior arrangement only. This tour is not suitable for vegans.

Experiences happen rain, shine or snow (the last being unlikely). Please dress accordingly.

Tours consist of small groups of no more than 8 to 10 guests per expert guide.

Suitable for ages 12 and up, and most fitness levels. Total walking distance is approximately 3-4km.

What to Expect

Experience Cape Town’s very first plant-based walking food tour!

This unique tour takes you through some of the most historic parts of the city, while sampling the locals’ favourite plant-based dishes along the way. You’ll be able to soak up the city’s diverse vibe as you visit up to 7 iconic and hidden food institutions to try some tasty vegan treats and authentic flavours.

We’ll meet at a centrally located coffee shop in buzzing Kloof Street at 10:00am and walk, talk and eat our way through the city from there.

The tour lasts approximately 4 hours and the total walking distance is 3km. While the walking is not strenuous, you may spend a significant portion of the tour on your feet.

Meet at Mustacchio Caffe, 8 Kloof Street, Gardens. Best to take a taxi or Uber to the meeting point as parking in the city is limited and expensive

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 4 hour experience. Imagine walking through the city eating our local artisans’ most delicious foods while learning about the neighbourhoods from real locals.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs. Vegetarians consuming dairy and gluten can be catered for on this tour.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

What do we do in case of bad weather?

The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We advise that you check the weather conditions for your event and dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if necessary.

Is there parking available?

Limited paid street parking may be available close to the tour’s starting location. We recommend that you take a taxi or Uber to the starting location as the tour ends at a different location approximately 500m away.
