What to Expect
- All logistical and tour details will be agreed upon ahead of time by the private group tour organizer and Eat like a local food tours
- Adolescent and/or Children tickets are not available for Private or Custom Group Tours
- Customized tours and tasting adventures are available for larger groups – please inquire using the Private Group Tour Request Form
- Weekday private tours are generally easier to accommodate and book than weekend tours
- Eat like a local can accommodate any food allergies, aversions and/or dietary preferences for your guests
- Private Group Food Tours are held rain, shine or snow.
Option to customize length, start times, and tour distance covered.
Restrooms are available during the experience.
Private and exclusive experience limited to your group members.
Masks are required to be worn due to South African regulations. No mask no tour.
Dietary and allergy requirements by prior arrangement only. This tour is not suitable for vegans.
Experiences happen rain, shine or snow (the last being unlikely). Please dress accordingly.

About the Tour
We love to cater to groups who are looking for a more intimate experience and to get a taste of Cape Town while enjoying the company of friends, family or co-workers. Prices start at R1,650 p.p. for two guests but decrease with the number of guests.

Do we only walk around and sample food?
Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 4 hour experience. Imagine walking through the city eating our local artisans’ most delicious foods while learning about the neighbourhoods from real locals.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs. Vegetarians consuming dairy and gluten can be catered for on this tour.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.
What do we do in case of bad weather?
The tours are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We advise that you check the weather conditions for your event and dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if necessary.
Is there parking available?
Limited paid street parking may be available close to the tour’s starting location. We recommend that you take a taxi or Uber to the starting location as the tour ends at a different location approximately 500m away.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.
Does the tour come in other languages?
At this time, we do not offer tours in any other languages except English.
Do you support corporate, or private events?
We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, birthday parties, corporate and team-building events, conventions, and more).
What should I bring with me?
Bring a camera to capture the special moments and carry a small bottle of water. When it’s really hot out, we recommend an application of sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses. During the cooler seasons it’s important to wear and an extra layer of clothing. If it looks like rain, please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if you have one.
